Saveur the Journey’s “Culinary Adventure to Haute Savoie France” July 14-22, 2017

Day 1 (Friday) July 14

Arrive in Geneva, Switzerland. Bus to lodging Hotel de France Contact, Evain-les-Bains, France.
Rest, relax, and recuperate or visit downtown, spring, spa, etc.
Welcome meeting
Aperitif chez Luc Morel
Street fair, dinner on your own, fireworks.

Day 2 (Saturday) July 15

Breakfast at Hotel de France Contact
Boucherie/Charcuterie Trombert (Thonon-les-Bains) –Hervé Trombert will lead general tour and explanation, demonstration and tasting. 10:00.
Lunch: picnic by the lake in Evian, visit Evian, Evian spring, free afternoon.
Dinner-:Hosted dinner

Day 3 (Sunday) July 16

Breakfast at Hotel de France Contact (check out of hotel) Graise mâtiné (late start) Drive to Lavaux wine region in Switzerland (1.5 hours).
Hike through the terraced vineyards
Lunch: Picnic
Wine tastings.
Drive to Orcier, France (2h)
Check into lodging “Au pres de la Basse.”
Dinner: Table d’hotes “Au pre de la Basse. »

Day 4 (Monday) July 17

Breakfast at “Au pre de la Basse.” Check out of lodging.
La Tour Fromagerie-Cheese making with Jean-Paul, tour, tasting. Feternes, France. 9:00 Lunch Picnic Bernex
Hike in the mountains or relax
Dinner: Cheese Fondue chez Jean-Paul and Karine
Return to lodging in Orcier “Au pre de la Basse.”

Day 5 (Tuesday) July 18

Breakfast at “Au pre de la Basse.”
**La Mere Gaud (optional)** (Duck Fois Gras, Duck products in Ballaison)-tour, tasting, discussion, questions.
Lunch Chez Dret (working person’s 4 course lunch).
Visit to the beautiful medieval town of Yvoire. Free afternoon to discover Yvoire.
Check into lodging “Chateau de Coudree” a 12th century castle on the shores of Lake Geneva. Dinner on your own.

Day 6 (Wednesday) July 19

Breakfast at Lodging (Chateau de Coudree). Graisse mâtiné (slow start)
Lunch with Daniel and Anne-Marie Kluser 12:00
Swimming, relaxing, free afternoon.
Comptoir des Saveurs (Thonon-Les-Bains). Tour of pastry production kitchen, French Macacron demonstration with Sebastian, tasting. Cafe. 2 hours. 16:00
Check into lodging “Les Cornettes.”
Dinner at mountain restaurant with Herve Trombert

Day 7 (Thursday) July 20

Breakfast at lodging “Les Cornettes”
Market tour (Thonon-les-Bains)
Lunch: Picnic from market
Chacuterie Simon. Feternes, France. Simon will lead tour of curing chambers with aged hams and sausages. Visit his pigs. Tasting. 15h30
Return to lodging in La Chapelle d’Abondance
Dinner: Les Cornettes.

Day 8 (Friday) July 21

Breakfast at lodging “Les Cornettes.” Check out.
Visit 12th century Abbey in Abondance
Lunch on your own.
Au fournil du Chablais Boulangerie 15h
Free afternoon (possible day hikes in the alpine pastures, cafes, etc)

Check into “Le Bonheur est dans le Pré” Lucinges, France Dinner “Le Bonheur est dans le Pré.”

Day 9 (Saturday) July 22

Breakfast at lodging “Le Bonheur est dans le Pré.” Departure for Geneva Airport
